Our first route takes us south and west along winding mountain roads down to Lake Elsinore. Following lunch, we climb into the refreshing air of San Bernardino National Forest, navigating roads that follow the impressive slopes of San Jacinto Mountain. The descent into Palm Springs delivers stunning views and signals the end of our first day's ride. On this day 4 we continue to roll along historic Route 66 into Arizona, pausing in Oatman where wild burros roam freely among frontier-era buildings. Press on to Kingman—the beating heart of Route 66—positioned at the center of the longest preserved stretch of the original "Mother Road." From Kingman, we head to Seligman, riding another iconic section of Route 66 that curves through the Hualapai Indian Reservation. After refueling with lunch in Seligman, the journey continues toward one of nature's masterpieces—the Grand Canyon. Prepare for a vista that has left travelers speechless for centuries.

From this lowest point in the United States, continue west on winding roads that climb dramatically into the Sierra Nevada Mountains, eventually reaching the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes at over 7,000 feet elevation.
