Thinking about a cross-country trip? The Honda Gold Wing 1800 is the bike you want. One of the most popular motorcycles of all time, this full-size motorcycle has been at the head of the touring pack for more than three decades. With its unrivaled combination of power, luxury and sporting capability, the 1832cc version continually redefines what a touring motorcycle can be.
Spec & Features
The Gold Wing GL1800 sports a formidable 1832cc, six-cylinder boxer engine which generates 118hp at 5500rpm and 123ftlbs of torque at 4000rpm. This is a serious motor. This is wonderfully complemented by excellent handling: The steering is nice and neutral, and the bike’s near-800lb mass actually feels light. But comfort is also essential for touring, and the Gold Wing does not disappoint. The seat is incredibly comfortable, the reach to the ground is quite reasonable, and the pegs are nice and low. The wind protection is customizable, with an adjustable screen and jumbo fairing. And with 33gal of storage space, you can take almost anything you need on your marathon tour.
More than 30 Year of Excellence
Debuted in 1975 as a road bike, the Honda Gold Wing started the new trend in touring motorcycles. The GL-1800 was introduced in 2001, the first new Gold Wing model in more than a decade. The 2006 model made history again; it was the first production motorcycle to feature an airbag. More than 30 years of history have seen this bike uphold its reputation as a remarkably popular, serious touring bike.
Silver Screen Appearances
The Honda Gold Wing has appeared, in various models, in such films as A Bronx Tale, Déjà Vu, Robocop 3, Spartan, and Police Academy 6, as well as in the TV series Reno 911! and Renegade.
