From Palm Springs take Hwy 62 towards Joshua Tree, where you turn right on Park Blvd. Enjoy a scenic ride through Joshua Tree National Park – you see amazing colors, rock canyons, and more kind of cacti than you ever knew existed. You do the loop to Twentynine Palms, continue a few miles on Hwy 62 and follow the Old Mother Road – via Amboy, Essex and Needles. Cross into Arizona and ride to Kingman, considered the “Heart of Route 66”, your stop for tonight.day 4

From Page you take Hwy 89 west and cruise the Vermillion Cliffs and about 8 miles out of Page you will enter Utah. At Mount Carmel Junction you pick up Hwy 9, which takes you all the way to Zion National Park. Compared to Yosemite and the Grand Canyon, Zion exudes a stronger sense of nature. Take Hwy 15, which will take you all the way into Las Vegas. En route you might want to stop at the historic town of Mesquite, situated at the Stateline of Nevada/Arizona. You will arrive into Las Vegas – the city steeped in excess – from the north. It’s probably a good idea to experience Las Vegas for yourself to get a fair idea of this place.
